Are you looking for a rustic holiday chalet for your sole use, ideally situated with extensive grounds in an unspoilt natural setting? The "Chalet Bergweide" offers exactly this. The cottage is located on the western edge of the northern Black Forest, overlooking the Rhine valley. In good weather you can even spot Strasbourg Cathedral. The entrance to the national park is 6 km away. The Hornisgrinde (the highest mountain in the northern Black Forest) is a hiking distance of one and a half hours away. A quiet location surrounded by nature. You will not be isolated, however, as there is a small settlement of detached houses in the area. You can also enjoy free high-speed internet and satellite TV. Dogs allowed!
Experience nature and the lure of the wild in the Black Forest National Park
The national park is just 6 km away, while the cottage also boasts a beautiful setting in its own right. You can start hiking right from your doorstep. Or take your mountain bike, which can be securely parked in the garage. You can also charge your e-bike overnight in the garage. If you'd rather not bring along your own bike, you can rent a bike or e-bike.
Sasbachwalden - award-winning wine village with fine dining
The centre of the wine-growing village of Sasbachwalden is only 5 km away, offering excellent restaurants from haute cuisine to refined country restaurants, wine bars, cafes, an award-winning bakery, a small supermarket and an excellent butcher's. And just 5 minutes' walk from the cottage you will find two inns with sensational views of the Rhine valley.
Baden-Baden - culture and wellness nearby
Baden-Baden and its famous "Caracalla " and "Friedrichsbad" spas, with beautiful cafes, top restaurants, the casino and the "Festspielhaus", can be reached in 45 minutes. The Alsatian city of Strasbourg is only a 55-minute drive away. A day trip to the Alsatian wine-growing villages is well worth the short journey.
Exciting adventure holidays for children
Swimming (open-air pool 5 km, flooded gravel pits 15 km), an adventure playground, a climbing site, a mountain bike arena, a deer park, a riding stable, a bobsleigh track, a ranger tour in the national park or the cottage's own ping-pong table will ensure that your children never get bored. As a highlight, visit the Europa Park Rust (50 min. by car) – Europe’s second most famous theme park after Disneyland in Paris.
Mountainbike Arena Sasbachwalden
Excellent amenities for mountain bikers: the "Schaeffler MTB Arena" in Sasbachwalden covers many facets of mountain biking, taking in a host of circuits and facilities. The 3.3 km "Alpirsbach Black Forest Trail“ begins just a few hundred meters from the 'Chalet Bergweide'.

A whole array of winter sports
From the Chalet Bergweide you can reach all major ski lifts in the northern Black Forest in 15 minutes: Seibelseckle, Unterstmatt, Mehliskopf and Ruhestein. In addition, there is an extensive network of trails for cross-country skiers in the immediate vicinity, interesting snowshoe hike tours (also guided) with snowshoe hire, a toboggan run, an outdoor skating rink and more besides.
